Swiss heatwaves linked to around 600 excess deaths

Around 600 excess deaths were recorded in Switzerland during this summer’s heatwaves, according to mortality data from the Federal Statistical Office. People over 65 were most affected, although the unusually persistent heat also affected younger age groups.
