Local electricity cooperatives take off across Switzerland

Switzerland’s local electricity community model has expanded rapidly, with an estimated 1,800 cooperatives now operating nationwide after its introduction at the start of the year. The communities allow local producers, consumers and storage operators to trade renewable power within their areas.
