Trial opens over Russian skater’s near-fatal accident in Lausanne

A Lausanne court is examining responsibility for an accident that nearly killed a Russian figure skater during a 2020 Youth Olympic Games rehearsal. Five defendants, including the skater’s husband and four event managers, face charges of causing grievous bodily harm through negligence.
