Swiss rainfall is becoming more intense, raising flood risks
Heavy rainfall in Switzerland has become markedly more intense, with ten-minute downpours about 20% stronger since the 1980s. Researchers warn that short-duration cloudbursts could become up to 30% more intense in future, increasing the country’s exposure to flash floods and infrastructure damage.
