Swiss Woman Kidnapped in Niger: Foreign Ministry Confirms

Swiss authorities confirm the abduction of a Swiss citizen from her home in Agadez, Niger, as diplomatic efforts begin to secure her release.

A Swiss woman was abducted from her home in Agadez, Niger, on Sunday evening.
The victim had lived in Agadez for several years, was married to a Nigerien, and ran an association supporting artisans.
This is the second kidnapping of a European woman in Agadez in recent months, following the abduction of a 73-year-old Austrian in January.
The Swiss representation in Niamey is currently in contact with local authorities regarding the incident.
